Booking & groups
Yes. Our cruise hikes are planned around the time ships spend in Nordfjordeid. Before you book, check that the listed times fit your ship’s schedule and all-aboard time, and contact us if you are unsure.
Yes, solo travellers are welcome. Some trips need a minimum number of participants before they can go ahead.
We let you know as soon as we can, and for cruise hikes no later than 45 minutes before the scheduled start. You can then choose a full refund. Where practical, we may also offer another date or activity.
Yes. We arrange private hikes for families, groups of friends and companies. Tell us about your group in the custom hike form, or contact us, and we will come back with a suggestion, a meeting point and a price.
Yes, but please contact us before booking. For larger groups we can arrange extra guides where needed.
Difficulty & fitness
It depends on the trip. Our easier hikes suit people with little hiking experience, while the more demanding ones require experience of long mountain hikes. Each hike page describes the difficulty.

We adjust the pace to the group and take breaks along the way.
It depends on the trip. Children who join as hikers must be able to walk the whole distance themselves; a small child can instead ride on an adult’s back in one of our child carriers. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult unless agreed otherwise. Where a trip has a recommended age, it is shown on the trip page. On Bjørneskarnakken, the Ossætra Ridge Walk and Trollenykjen, children aged 8–16 pay a lower price, and children under 8 go free.
Weather & safety
Light rain does not usually mean a cancellation. If conditions make the planned route unsuitable, we may change the route, choose another hike, adjust the start time or cancel the trip. Safety always comes first.
Yes. The guide may adjust the route because of the weather, trail conditions, the group’s ability or safety.
If we have to cancel, we may offer an alternative. If you do not want it, you can choose a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled activity.
If the trip can go ahead safely, the normal cancellation terms apply. The guide decides whether conditions are safe.
Hiking in the mountains always involves some risk. We manage it through careful planning and local knowledge, and we ask everyone to follow the guide’s instructions.
What to bring
Dress for changing mountain weather. More demanding trips may have additional equipment requirements. If you are unsure what to pack, contact us before your trip.
Sturdy footwear with good grip is recommended. Ordinary street shoes are not suitable.
Yes, a few things. We can lend trekking poles, and we have a few child carriers so a small child can ride on a parent’s back. Where a trip includes transport, we can fit suitable child seats — tell us the children’s ages when you book. Numbers are limited, so let us know as early as you can.
For your safety, the guide may refuse participation if your equipment is not suitable for the trip. If you are unsure, contact us before the hike.
Meeting points & transport
For cruise hikes, we meet at Eid Småbåthamn, about a four-minute walk (300 m) from the cruise ship terminal in Nordfjordeid. Slogen hikes start from the Slogen hiking car park in Øye, and Skåla hikes from the Skåla car park near Loen.
It depends on the trip. The trip description tells you whether transport is included.
Contact us as soon as possible on +47 466 84 266. The hike cannot normally wait for late participants, and arriving too late to take part counts as a no-show.
Cancellations & changes
Email us at booking@nordfjordwild.no with your name, booking reference if you have it, the activity date and who is cancelling. If you cancel at least 7 days before the start, you receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 7 days but at least 48 hours before the start, you receive 50%. Cancellations less than 48 hours before the start and no-shows are not refunded. Booked through GetYourGuide, Viator or Airbnb? Then cancel through that platform, and its cancellation terms apply. You receive a full refund for your booked activity.
Contact us as soon as possible. If reasonable documentation confirms that a participant could not take part, we refund 100% of the amount paid for that participant.
Usually, yes, if there is availability on the new date. Contact us as early as you can.
Private & custom hikes
Yes. Fill in the custom hike form with what you would like to do, when you are visiting and how many people will join. We will reply by email with a suggested hike, a meeting point and a price.
Yes. We can suggest an easier or more demanding alternative based on your experience, the time available and the expected conditions.
Trip planning
Choose a planning package and tell us about your dates, interests, budget and travel style. You pay for the package before we start, and then we build your personalised plan. Every package includes one round of revisions.
If you cancel before we start working on your plan, you receive a full refund. If you bought the package online, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal also applies. Read the full cancellation and refund policy and our terms and conditions.
