Badestova

A modern sauna on the fjord in the centre of Nordfjordeid: heat, steam and a dip in the fjord, a few minutes on foot from the cruise pier.

Warm up, cool down

Badestova is a small, modern sauna on the waterfront behind the Alti Nordfjord shopping centre, run by the local company Damms AS. Through the big window you look straight out over the fjord, and when you have had enough heat, the water is a few steps away: a swim in summer, an ice bath in winter.

The sauna takes up to eight people. Sessions last 90 minutes and run from early morning to late evening, every day of the week. You can book a place in a shared session, or the whole sauna for your own group.

Good to know before you go

The practical side, in short:

  • Where: Sjøgata 21, on the waterfront in the centre of Nordfjordeid, a short walk from the cruise pier and from our meeting point at the small-boat harbour
  • Sessions: 90 minutes, daily from about 5 in the morning until 11 at night
  • Prices: 225 NOK per person in a shared session, or 900 NOK for the whole sauna (up to 8 people)
  • Bring: swimwear, a towel to sit on and one to dry off, and something to drink. There is a small changing room
  • The fjord: right outside the door. Walk in from the shore; the water is shallow by the walkway, so no jumping

Sauna sessions on their own are booked directly with Badestova. Prices are Badestova’s own and may change; the booking page always shows the current ones.

Hike + sauna: 15% off both

Book a guided hike with us and a session at Badestova on the same day, and you get 15% off both the hike and the sauna. Finish the walk on the ridge, then let the heat and the fjord do the rest.

Tell us which hike and date you would like, and whether you want a place in a shared session or the whole sauna. We reserve the slot after the hike and send you one booking for both. Works for cruise days too: we plan the sauna around your all-aboard time.

Good to know

Directly with Badestova on saunabooking.no: pick a day and a 90-minute slot, shared or private, and pay online. Nordfjord Wild only sells the sauna together with a guided hike.

A place in a shared session is 225 NOK per person; the whole sauna for your own group (up to 8 people) is 900 NOK. Book a guided hike with us on the same day and you get 15% off both the hike and the sauna. Current prices are on Badestova’s booking page.

Choose a guided hike and tell us you would like the sauna afterwards, shared or private, when you book or in a message. We reserve the sauna slot for you after the hike, and both the hike and the sauna are charged at 15% off. The combination is booked and paid through Nordfjord Wild, so you have one booking and one contact for the day.
